The coastline of Miyakojima differs across the island, combining abundant nature, white sand beaches, translucent waters and colorful coral reefs, making the island well-known for its many great diving spots. Come and explore its mysterious beauty with us!
Kurima Bridge & Ryugujo Observatory:
Visit the 1,690-meter Kurima Bridge, the longest farm road bridge in Japan, built in 1995 to connect Miyako and Kurima Islands. Seen from the bridge, the colors of the sea change kaleidoscopically depending on the angle of light, a sight beautiful beyond words. Panoramic views of Yonaha Maehama and Kurima Islands are also breathtaking.
Semi-Submersible Vessel Sea-Sky Hakuai:
Seize your opportunity to explore the depths of the ocean near the southern part of Miyakojima in a Sea-Sky Hakuai semi-submersible vessel. The seawater is incredibly clear. Join us and marvel at the beautiful undersea world of Miyakojima.
Ueno German Culture Village (external façade):
The Ueno German Culture Village found its origin in the Meiji Era (1868-1912), when a shipwreck occurred on the Miyako coastline. Locals rescued the German crew, and a theme replica was built to commemorate this event. With a replica of the German Marksburg Castle, this theme park inter-mixes German culture with the beauty of Miyako Island to create an Okinawan German fairy tale.
Savor the native flavors of Miyako.
Admire the stunning white sand and emerald-green ocean along Maehama Beach. You are truly in a tropical paradise! Stretching seven kilometers, the coast is suited for swimming and various water sports. It is ranked as one of the top contenders in Japan's list of best beaches.
