Genting Dream’s most beloved main characters – the Mermaid and the Astronaut – return this season for the first-ever Mermaid Academy hosted by none other than Mermaid Kat, who is known to establish the world’s first Mermaid Academy; as well as the first-ever Astronaut Camp at Sea, hosted by Dr. Leroy Chiao, the first Asian-American commander of the International Space Station.
Children can also explore their creativity and unleash their talents in performing with the new Little Dreamers programme, which features the first Faber-Castell Art Workshop at Sea and the Reach for the Stars junior talent show. In addition, there will be ongoing outdoor sports games, poolside parties and bazaars for the whole family throughout summer, and even a very special class from the world famous Dally Institute.
To cap a truly sparkling holiday, families and guests can experience Fireworks At Sea – a dazzling display of rainbow colours illuminating the stunning backdrop of the ocean and night skies. This is the first and only fireworks display programme of its kind in Asia, and a highlight of “Dream Night” after-hours activities at Genting Dream every Thursday from June to October.
Mermaid Academy at Sea

The Mermaid Academy at Sea will feature live demonstrations by Mermaid Kat featuring her custom-made mermaid tail inspired by the ship’s signature design, as well as workshops where children can don their own mermaid tail as they learn splashing skills and underwater movement techniques. Families can get a chance to have photo packages with Mermaid Kat, and listen to her talks about the environment and her fascinating journey to becoming a professional mermaid.
Astronaut Camp at Sea
30 July – 4 Aug | 6-11 Aug
Astronaut Camp at Sea by Dr. Leroy Chiao will feature an interactive astronaut camp that families can enjoy together, and include workshops for children where they can design their own spacesuits and mission patch, create their own galaxies – and even their own aliens! Dr. Chiao will also talk about his insights on space exploration and share stories of his voyages in space. Dr. Chiao will also have photo sessions with families, and some lucky ones can get chance to dine with him too.
16 June - 1 September
The Little Dreamers programme will feature a creative art workshop with Faber-Castell and ART Playground Academy of Arts. New activities include a stargazing party, dress-up parties, kinetic sand challenge and more. Children who complete all classes will receive a complimentary limited-edition Dream Cruises x Faber-Castell coloring pencil sets and a graduation certificate. Children aged 2 - 12 years who are guests of Dream Cruises can join on a complimentary basis. Registration for the Little Dreamers programme will open on 16 June, and new members can enjoy instant benefits, including a special birthday surprise and other exclusive privileges.
Reach for the Stars
16 July – 31 December
Reach for the Stars is a new junior talent show, where children can showcase their talents - whether it’s singing, dancing, acrobatics or playing musical instruments – on the grand stage of the Zodiac Theatre, and get one step closer to becoming part of the “Hall of Fame” at Genting Dream. The final winner will get a 5-night cruise in a Dream Palace suite good for four persons, and get a chance to be a guest performer at one of the shows.
Etiquette Academy at Sea
Get tips from the world-renowned Miss Dally on gaining more confidence and learn new skills for successful journey in life. This exclusive talk features Miss China 2016 Kong Jing, and will be led by James Zhang, the China director of the Dally Institute, an internationally renowned etiquette academy, which has trained world leaders, celebrities and beauty queens.

About Mermaid Kat
Mermaid Kat from Germany established in 2012 the first ever Mermaid School in the world, the Mermaid Kat Academy with branches in Australia and Germany. She travels the world to swim in the open oceans alongside sea creatures like dolphins, turtles, rays, whales and even sharks.
