Guangzhou, 19 August 2016 - Dream Cruises, the first-ever Asian luxury cruise line, today enjoyed a warm welcome from its homeport of Guangzhou as thousands of people visited “Dream Cruises - Where Dreams Set Sail”, a mega roadshow, to learn more about the inspirational luxury promised by the cruise line’s inaugural ship Genting Dream. The all new brand advertising campaign also made its debut at the same occasion.
The mega roadshow at Guangzhou’s Taikoo Hui shopping mall is aimed directly at reaching consumers in South China who want to find out more about Dream Cruises, Genting Hong Kong’s new cruise line, which is catering to the large and rapidly growing high-end leisure cruise market in China and Asia. The cruise line offers inspirational luxury, which is Asian at heart and international in spirit, delivering the highest levels of onboard guest service and spacious comfort in the region.
Ms. Yvette Yuan, Vice President of Sales, Dream Cruises, said: “Everyone at Dream Cruises is delighted to be back at Genting Dream’s homeport and we are thrilled with the opportunity to introduce the wonders offered by our ship to our valued guests from South China.”
During the 2-day event at Taikoo Hui shopping centre, consumers can experience a taste of the glamour and opulence that a cruise vacation on Genting Dream represents. The public were welcomed to the exhibition with a lively dance performance inspired by the bold hull artwork titled “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream”. Conceived by Chinese artist Jacky Tsai, the art piece envisages an emotive love story between a mermaid and an astronaut. London-based Tsai, best known for his creative work with iconic fashion designer Alexander McQueen, combines the essence of Chinese culture and the popular elements of western art in his unique hull art piece.
As part of the mega roadshow showcase, Dream Cruises also took the opportunity to reveal an exciting new nationwide brand campaign, anchored by a bold and compelling creative inspired by Jacky Tsai’s artwork. The story of an ethereal and fantastical journey of love between a mermaid and an astronaut forms the stunning visual narrative and serves as a powerful metaphor for breaking free of boundaries to realise your dreams and the exciting possibilities that can be discovered at sea.
Consumers at the roadshow had an opportunity to see the new brand commercial and then had the chance to have photos taken with the mermaid and the astronaut as they explored a huge life-like representation of Genting Dream which is the centrepiece of the exhibition. Consumers actively participated in the interactive sessions to win different prizes from cruise vacations worth USD15,000 in total, to limited edition umbrellas autographed by Jacky Tsai.
Genting Dream, currently undergoing fit-out at shipbuilders Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, will debut from her homeport of Nansha in Guangzhou in November this year.
