Hong Kong, 29 March 2018 – Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream was voted “Best New Cruise Ship” at this year’s TTG China Travel Awards 2018 Gala Ceremony held in Shanghai, China on 22 March 2018. This latest accolade joins a growing list of awards Genting Cruise Lines’ newest brand has been amassing since officially launching in 2015.
“It is an honour to accept this award on behalf of Dream Cruises and all our passionate crew and supporting shore side colleagues. We thank the TTG readers and travel community for this show of confidence in Dream Cruises. It is truly a privilege to receive this recognition from the TTG,” said Mr. Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises. “As the newest member of the Genting Cruise Lines family, this award reflects the efforts of our dedicated team at Dream Cruises who have consistently gone above and beyond to establish this brand in the Asia market in less than two years, exceeding the expectations of our guests and the cruise industry, and raising the standard of service and offerings to new heights.”
With the debut of Genting Dream in November 2016 and World Dream one year later, Dream Cruises has been recognized, again and again, for its steadfast attention to quality and for delivering an outstanding guest experience. Among the honours already bestowed on the young brand is a Star Performer Top Ten rating in the Large Resort category of the highly-revered Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide 2018, “Best New Ship” for Genting Dream and “Best Cruise Line – Entertainment” in the Travel Weekly Asia Reader's Choice Awards 2017, “Most Popular Cruise Brand” at the 10th TVB Weekly Brand Award 2017, “Most Popular Cruise Brand Among Chinese Families” in the Global Times Global Traveler 9th “Most Popular Outbound Travel Among Chinese Families” awards, and a host of others.

Delivering on its promise to offer inspirational and transformative journeys at sea, Dream Cruises has announced the summer deployment schedule for World Dream with the return of the 5-night “Journey to the Island Gems of Japan” due to popular demand. This summer, World Dream will call on the picturesque islands of Okinawa, Japan with visits to Naha, the capital city of Okinawa, and Miyakojima, the scenic island where the colour “Miyako Blue” was coined, from 1 April to 30 November 2018.
As well, building on the success and overwhelming response of the “Island Escapade” to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang and Phuket, Dream Cruises has revealed that Genting Dream will continue her Singapore homeport deployment with a delightful “Summer Island Idyll” itinerary, featuring new ports of call to Pulau Redang in Malaysia, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, North Bali and Jakarta in Indonesia, as well as Ko Samui and Bangkok (Laem Chabang) in Thailand – also beginning 1 April until the end of the year.
Ushering in a new era for Genting Cruise Lines, Dream Cruises recently celebrated the official start of production for its new Global Class cruise ship during a steel cutting ceremony held on 8 March at the MV Werften shipyards in both Wismar and Rostock, Germany.
